I’m really surprised that Sims liked the Shed story, because I thought it was exactly what Sims hated about comics nowadays–just mindless blood and gore for no real reason, and it pretty much took away everything that made Lizard an interesting character. But hey, whatever strokes your boat.

Also mad props to Ming Doyle–her mini-comics are great, and The Loneliest Astronauts looks really cool, and just bookmarked it.

It’s totally not an Asian thing – it’s a “time you got to the X-Men” thing; Jubilee hate is about two things;

1) People who came to the X-Men before you did, who’s X-Sweet-Heart was Kitty Pryde, and they don’t get that they were manipulated in the same way you were, and as such Kitty Pryde is awesome and Jubilee is lame.
2) Wesley Crusher factor. Why does that teenager get to hang out with Wolverine, when I am so much cooler than she?

Newspaper reporterin’ seemed so sassy and cool when I was growing up! You might almost have to pull a “Superman Returns” fake timeless retro number to make a story like that work now, though.

Basically my unreasonable demand is that I want the Daily Planet bullpen to be like the workroom in “Project Runway” but fraught with mortal and moral peril.

Huh. I’ll definitely check out 3rd Eye Comics. I just know that Fantom closed in PCity mall (where I commute), and Big Planet in CPark and Fairfax are just far away to make it not easy for me to make regular trips to.
